2019 TFI Network Awards

After three action-packed days of pitch prep and over 1,250 meetings between artists and industry representatives, the 9th annual TFI Network has concluded. This year, we were thrilled that some of our partners chose to recognize creators with awards to enhance their projects. Here’s who took home those awards:

Adrienne Shelly Foundation / TFI Filmmaker Award

Our partners at the Adrienne Shelly Foundation awarded MASHA FROM RUSSIA the Adrienne Shelly Foundation / TFI Filmmaker Award. Andy Ostroy, ASF Founder and Executive Director said that creator Sasha Gordon is "a very talented composer/writer/director with a uniquely creative voice and comedic sensibility. We're excited to watch her career flourish and anxiously await the completion of her next feature film."

Cine Qua Non Lab

Our friends at Cine Qua Non Lab host screenwriting workshops for filmmakers from around the world in Tzintzuntzan, Mexico. They selected BELONGING to attend one of these workshops.  

DOCSMX

TFI partner and Mexico City film festival DOCSMX chose a project to receive an automatic invitation to DOCSMX 2019, in addition to participation in one of their workshops, allowing this team to get acquainted with the Latin American film industry. The winning team was SILENT BEAUTY.

George Whipple Award

NY1 journalist and supporter of the arts George Whipple allocated a $5,000 award. We teamed up with our board member and Picture Motion founder Christie Marchese to select the winner, BLACK MOTHERS.

Konsonant Music - Music & Sound Packages

Our friends at Konsonant Music awarded more than $50K in prizes to four films, two scripted and two documentary. The first prize for both scripted and documentary was a $10,000 music and sound package, while the second prize for both scripted and documentary was a $5,000 music and sound package. In addition, each team received a $500 voucher towards either licensing or consultation for their project.

Prep To Post Award from Panavision and Light Iron

Panavision and Light Iron awarded a camera and post production package valued at over $120K to MASHA FROM RUSSIA.

A big congrats to the over 100 creators who came to present their 41 projects, and thanks to all of the industry who participated in the Network! We’re looking forward to seeing these projects come to fruition. Until next year!
