2020 TFI Network Awards

Over the past two weeks, we hosted our 10th annual TFI Network, presented by AT&T. We virtually convened 43 documentary, scripted and interactive project teams from over 20 countries for a week of pitch prep, followed by a week of one-on-one meetings with financiers, festival programmers, and other industry representatives. At the conclusion of TFI Network, several of our partners awarded prizes to filmmaking teams that will help them take their projects to the next level. Congratulations to these winners!

Adrienne Shelly Foundation/TFI Filmmaker Award
Scripted feature JOHNNY LOVES DOLORES filmmaker Clarissa De Los Reyes received the $5,000 development grant, which is awarded to a woman filmmaker with a project on which they are both the screenwriter & director.

Chemistry Cine
The feature documentary FRANK BEY: YOU’RE GOING TO MISS ME received a full color-correction & deliverables package from Mexico-based Chemistry Cine. 

Cine Qua Non Lab
Our partners at Cine Qua Non Lab selected scripted films LOS CAÍDOS and NEON TILAPIA to participate in their screenwriting lab in Tzintzuntzan, Mexico.

DOCSMX (Documentary Film Festival in Mexico City) chose HENRI: EL ÚLTIMO PIRATA to participate in their festival’s filmmaker workshop in October 2020 (including full accreditation to the festival).

Konsonant Music
Our friends at Konsonant Music awarded six scripted and documentary filmmaking teams with Music & Sound finishing packages totaling in $35,000.

  • FREE SELDA > Documentary Second Prize | Music & Sound Package worth $5,000
  • ES UNA ESQUINA DE MEXICO > Documentary Third Prize | Music & Sound Package worth $2,500
  • COSTA BRAVA LEBANON > Scripted First Prize | Music & Sound Package worth $10,000
  • GOLDEN > Scripted Second Prize | Music & Sound Package worth $5,000
  • LOS CAÍDOS > Scripted Third Prize | Music & Sound Package worth $2,500

In addition, each participating TFI NETWORK project will receive a $500 voucher towards either licensing or consultation for their project.

Panavision / Light Iron
Scripted film FIRE.W*RKS IN LIBERTY SQUARE took home $100,000 worth of in-kind prizes from Panavision / Light Iron, including a $60,000 camera package and $40,000 in post-production services.
