
The nation's leading LGBT film festival, Outfest, wrapped its 30th edition over the weekend and TAA alumni Mosquita y Mari walked away with two awards. Aurora Guerrero's moving coming-of-age love story between two Chicanas living in South East Los Angeles won the $5,000 cash prize Audience Award for Outstanding First U.S. Dramatic Feature as well as the Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film for Fenessa Pineda. Mosquita y Mari will be screening at NYC's Cinema Village August 3-9.
