We're so proud to announce that three of our Interactive grantees will World Premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival! The projects were funded and produced under our Immersive Films Program initiative with support from our partners at YouTube VR. Launched earlier this year, the program selected five teams/projects to attend a VR Lab in New York City. Each team received funding, a Yi Halo camera, and technical support to create their projects.
This year the Tribeca Film Festival's Tribeca Immersive showcase has two sections - a Virtual Arcade presented by AT&T, that includes 22 world premiere virtual and augmented exhibits, as well as five Storyscapes - Tribeca's in-competition Immersive section - experiences, and Tribeca Cinema 360 - a VR theater that features 12 unique pieces in four curated programs of 360 degree mobile content.
You can find all three of the TFI-supported projects in the Cinema 360 section screening twice a day from April 26th - May 4th at Tribeca Festival Hub at Spring Studios, 50 Varick Street, between Laight and Beach Streets. Tickets go on sale March 26th.
Congratulations to our Immersive Films Program projects and their creators!

Water Melts (World Premiere) β USA
Project Creators: Lilian Mehrel and Mary Evangelista
Key Collaborators: Ting Liu, Maya Edelman, and Ariel Marx
A blue-hearted rom-com about people who are going to lose someone they love. Nobody knows what to say. So they fight about nothing, laugh or cry, and dance at the wedding. Itβs a romantic comedy, after all.
