Herman’s House (Open To The Public)

Join Tribeca Film Institute® as we kick off our spring 2014 Youth Screening Series. This special education event features a screening of Herman’s House, a documentary that examines the relationship between Herman Wallace, the longest-serving prisoner in solitary confinement in US history, and artist Jackie Sumell. The film takes us inside the duo's unlikely 12-year friendship, revealing the transformative power of art as their artistic collaboration brings thousands of Americans face-to-face with the harsh reality of Wallace's confinement. After the screening, engage in a panel with the filmmaker, educators, and community activists. Continue the conversations at a reception following the panel.
