Andrew Hill is the senior scientist for Vizzuality, focusing on the development of citizen science and GIS tools. He received his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2012, studying global biodiversity, informatics, and data visualization. Andrew helps represent Vizzuality as a partner in the the Citizen Science Alliance, a Sloan Foundation funded initiative to create better citizen science applications on the web. He has contributed to many Vizzuality projects, including the upcoming Global Forest Watch platform for the World Resources Institute. He also leads academic and non-profit outreach for CartoDB, has taught graduate level courses on mapping and conservation, and presents workshops and public lectures on mapping, data journalism, and conservation regularly.
