Benson Lee is a Korean-American independent filmmaker/producer whose work has been theatrically distributed worldwide and screened on HBO and the Sundance Channel.
His last feature film, Miss Monday, premiered in the official competition of the Sundance film festival, where it received the prestigious Special Grand Jury Prize for Best Actor. Benson also helped to produce Black Picket Fence, a documentary about an aspiring rapper from East New York, which was nominated for a Charles Guggenheim Award at the Full Frame Festival.Benson attended New York University and graduated from the University of Hawaii without a degree in film, which he contributes to helping him to constantly think outside of the “film box”. He is also a former breakdancer who is vicariously living his unfulfilled fantasy through Planet B-boy.
