Deborah received her MFA in directing from Columbia University, where she completed two short films and a feature screenplay, all of which were selected for the Faculty Selects programs. Her short film, Daypass, screened internationally at over 35 film festivals, and won the Best Actor Award at the Milano Film Festival and the Best Short at he Turin Film Festival. Daypass also aired on CBC, SRC, the Sundance Channel, and recently became available on iTunes. The feature-length screenplay version of the film won the Comedy Central Award for Best Comedy Screenplay, and participated in a staged reading at McGraw-Hill under the guidance of writer Malia Scotch Marmo. Chow’s most recent short film, The Hill, premiered at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Montreal World Film Festival, and the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. The Hill was broadcast on the Reel NY/PBS and the CBC “Zed” program. Winner of the 2005 Kodak New Vision Mentorship, Chow attended the Berlinale Talent Campus, Toronto International Film Festival Talent Lab, and Praxis Screenwriting Lab. She is represented by Circle of Confusion in Los Angeles, CA.
