Michael Almereyda's films include fiction and documentary features: Paradise (2009), New Orleans Mon Amour (2008), William Eggleston in the Real World (2005), This So-called Disaster (2002), Hamlet (2000), The Rocking Horse Winner (1997), Nadja (1995); and Another Girl Another Planet (1992), and Twister (1989). He directed an episode of HBO's Deadwood and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for film and video. He is the editor of Night Wraps the Sky, Writings by and about Mayakovsky (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2008). His writing has appeared in Film Comment, Artforum, The Believer, and The New York Times.
