A NY-based independent filmmaker with award-winning work recognized by the Academy Awards®, the Canadian Academy of Film & Television, Sundance, MoMa, IFP, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Berlinale. Recent films include producing credits on The Girl is in Trouble, Executive Produced by Spike Lee (eOne 2015), God of Love (Oscar® Winner Best Live Action Short), and Doubles With Slight Pepper (TIFF Jury Prize and Canadia Screen Award Winner).  Additional feature producing credits include Sundance selection Holy Rollers (Deauville and Gotham Awards Winner), Bastards of Young (FilmBuff) & Without Shepherds (Slamdance 2014). He is also executive producer on A Birder’s Guide to Everything (Tribeca Film Festival, ScreenMedia) starring Academy-Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley and Some Velvet Morning (Tribeca Films) directed by Neil LaBute. His production work with leading visual artists include collaborations with Adam Kalkin (Push Button House, 2010), Shadi Sharokhi (Digital Cribs, 2012, Flow Tribeca, 2015) and Holly Zausner (Unsettled Matter, 2015)

As a founder of globally focused production company Origin Story Entertainment, he recently completed the selective Trans-Atlantic Partners co-production training program and is the first American invited into the exclusive European training fellowship and network - Atelier du Cinema Europe (ACE). 

He is a Toronto Talent Labs, IFP Narrative Labs, & Berlinale Talent Campus alum and is an elected member of the Cornell Communication Advisory Board and Cornell University Council. His commercial work as a producer and director includes award winning tv, digital and experiential programs for illy, BBC-America, Cisco, Absolut, Verizon Wireless and DirecTV. Previously Ryan was a Creative Director at the public relation/marketing agency Bratskeir & Company where he lead campaigns for Hasbro, Jim Beam, and L’Oreal. An MFA-Candidate at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts he is a recent Fellow of the universities Cinema Research Institute think tank where he is focused on the advancement of storytelling at the cross-section of film and video games narratives exploring the potential for virtual reality narrative immersive experiences.  

He is a voting member of the Producers Guild of America, National Board of Review, and Canadian Academy; an associate member of the British Academy of Film and Television and on the regional selection committee for the AMPAS Student Academy Awards.

In order to torment the people in her life who have neglected her, teen oddball Casey Trade enlists an outcast’s help to fake her own suicide. She soon finds out that the devoted attention of her cohort presents a new set of problems.
