About

An Inglewood, CA native, Stacy Pyles is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker. Her romantic comedy screenplay, Sunset Cove, took top honors at the 2005 African-American Film Marketplace and has recently been optioned for development. An alumna of prestigious writing fellowships such as the Warner Bros. Comedy Writing Workshop, and Dr. Bill Cosby’s Screenwriting Program, Stacy also holds an M.F.A. in Film from California College of the Arts, where she wrote and developed several narrative screenplays. Her thesis film Combing Thru the Kinks (a comedic look at Black women and their hair) premiered at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery and went on to garner numerous honors, awards, and special screenings. Currently, Combing Thru the Kinks is being used as an academic tool at several top Universities and Colleges across the country in Women’s Studies, Ethnic Studies and African-American Studies departments. Stacy completed her undergraduate coursework in Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley.
