Shot in HD, in Africa and America, the film combines cinema vérité with interviews. News archive footage is seamlessly integrated into the narrative for background and context. Centering on the fight around the Anti-Homosexual Bill, we follow three representative characters.  Our goal is to explore human rights abuses in Uganda and the connections to the US.

The son of minister, I am fascinated with religion, but as a gay man who grew up in the church, I know how destructive it can be.  This film is an exploration of religion and its power to transform or destroy lives.
