On Saturday, March 16 come to the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture for our latest Youth Screening Series. Titled "HerStory Now: Celebrating The Power of the Everyday Woman," TFI-supported Mosquita y Mari will be given a community screening followed by a panel discussion with director Aurora Guerrero, the film's lead Fenessa Pineda and Dr. Marta Moreno Vega, founder of the Caribbean Cultural Center. Register Here The debut feature of Guerrero, Mosquita y Mari was selected to TAA in 2006 and has since premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, has had a theatrical run and will soon be on VOD and DVD. The film is a coming-of-age drama that follows two young Chicanas growing up in South East Los Angeles.
