'The Battered Bastards Of Baseball' Is Headed To Sundance

With the announcement that the 2013 TFI/ESPN Prize winner has been included as part of the Documentary Premieres for the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, that now makes six TFI grantees that are headed to Park City in January.

Directed by Chapman Way, Battered Bastards follows the meteoric rise of the independent baseball team, the Portland Mavericks, which was owned by Hollywood vet Bing Russell.

The TFI/ESPN Prize is an extension of our TFI Documentary Fund and is given to a feature-length work-in-progress documentary that presents sports, competition and athleticism as a backdrop within a character-driven story.
