Three TFI-Supported Documentaries Headed To Los Angeles Film Festival

The Los Angeles Film Festival announced their lineup and three of our alumni will be screening there: Geeta and Ravi Patel's Meet The Patels (which will have its U.S. premiere and will be in competition), Chapman and Maclain Way's The Battered Bastards of Baseball, and Darius Clark Monroe's Evolution of a Criminal.

The Battered Bastards of Baseball (TFI/ESPN Prize winner) continue their solid festival run, having premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and recently screening at the Tribeca Film Festival. Evolution of a Criminal (Tribeca All Access®) recently won the Grand Jury prize at Full Frame.

Meet The Patels (TFI Documentary Fund alum) follows L.A. actor Ravi Patel as he reluctantly consents to let his parents find him an ideal Indian bride. The film just came off a successful world premiere at Hot Docs.

The Los Angeles Film Festival, which marks its 20th anniversary this year, will run from June 11-19.

Here's a trailer for Meet The Patels.
