Wendy Levy on Embracing Emerging Technology

This is the eleventh video presentation from the Transmedia Lab held at Silverdocs, June 24th, 2011.

Wendy Levy, the Creative Director of BAVC, addresses skeptical filmmakers and storytellers disinclined towards transmedia and encourages them to connect to emerging technology, collaborate on participatory narrative models, and create a shared public trust around their projects with the capacity to empower viewers.

Levy stresses the importance of human-centered design and the need for truly immersive online spaces. Media makers, she argues, should cultivate interactive platforms that enable them to retain authorship around their narratives while simultaneously inviting audience members in—allowing others to share in the spark of their stories.
