Bane Fakih is a writer/director originally from Beirut, based in New York. Her first short film ASSIL AND JAD was awarded Best Short Film at the European Film Festival of Beirut, Best Student Film in Nadi Li Kol El Nass, Best Original Screenplay at the New York City International Film Festival - where it also was nominated for Best Actress in a leading role and Best Director - and participated in various local festivals including the “Meshkal” Festival in Beirut. Bane holds a BA from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut and an MFA degree in Screenwriting/Directing at Columbia University. During her time at Columbia Bane wrote and directed VIBES, which is now touring in festivals such as Berlin Feminist week and FilmOut San Diego. Also, she was the lead actor in the award-winning short film  NICE TALKING TO YOU.

In 1976 civil-war-torn Beirut, a young rebellious woman fights to free her neighborhood from the control of the Holiday-Inn Sniper and to maintain her relationship with a woman bound by social norms.
