Gema Juárez Allen is a film producer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has produced over 20 feature-length films -- all international co-productions -- that have screened and received awards at prestigious film festivals worldwide.

Among her recent titles are: LINA DE LIMA (2019, María Paz González, premiere at TIFF Discoveries); FICCION PRIVADA (2019, Andrés Di Tella, premiere at San Sebastián IFF); THEATRE OF WAR (2018, Lola Arias, premiere at Berlinale Forum); LA CAMA (2018, Mónica Lairana, premiere at Berlinale Forum); RUBEN BLADES IS NOT MY NAME (2018, Abner Benaim, premiere at SXSW, Audience Award); SOLDADO (2017, Manuel Abramovich, premiere at Berlinale Generation); THE DREAD (2017, Pablo Aparo and Martín Benchimol, premiere at IDFA MidLength Competition, Best Film).

Gema has served on juries for the San Sebastián Film Festival, IDFA, Guadalajara IFF, Cartagena IFF, and Lima IFF, among others. She sat on project selection committees in Argentina and other Latin American countries, as well as in the IDFA Bertha Fund, BAFICI BAL, Mar del Plata Lobo Lab and DocsDF. Gema is a mentor in several training initiatives aimed at young documentary film producers such as IDFA Academy, Campus Latino (Goethe Institute), Raymundo Fleyzer (Enerc Argentina), Plataforma Lab (Brazil), ChileDoc (Chile) and Taller Cina Proa (Argentina). She also teaches documentary production at the National Centre for Film Experimentation in Argentina.

Gema trained in Anthropology at the universities of Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, where she continued her Ph.D. studies. She has also studied cinema at the National Centre for Film Experimentation (ENERC) in Argentina and received a Master's degree in Visual Anthropology from the University of Manchester UK. Gema is a member of the Academy of Films, Arts and Sciences of the United States and part of the EAVE and EURODOC professional networks.
