James Scott is a feature film editor based in Brighton, UK, originally from Canada. Winner of a Special Jury Award for Editing at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival & the Canadian Screen Award for Best Editing for Jerry Rothwell’s HOW TO CHANGE THE WORLD (BFI/Netflix). His feature-length cinema documentary credits include Grierson nominated films THE MAN WHOSE MIND EXPLODED (Netflix) by Toby Amies, about Brighton eccentric Drako Oho Zarhazar's amazing life and extraordinary past dealing with the repercussions of brain damage; and Jeanie Finlay's THE GREAT HIP HOAX (BBC Storyville), about two Scottish rappers who faked their way into the music industry. Other feature edits include Jerry Rothwell’s SOUR GRAPES (Netflix), Dunstan Bruce's THIS BAND IS SO GORGEOUS, about 70's UK punk band Sham 69's tour of China; THE SEARCH FOR WENG WENG about one obsessive video store owner's quest to find the true story of cult '80's primordial dwarf Filipino action movie star Weng Weng; and Sophie Robinson's MY BEAUTIFUL BROKEN BRAIN (Netflix) winner of the IDFA DOCU Award. Jim is currently working on Giovanni Buccomino's AFTER A REVOLUTION.

After A Revolution

Filmed over six years, AFTER A REVOLUTION is the intimate story of two siblings struggling to rebuild their lives after fighting on opposite sides of the Libyan revolution. As they raise their children amongst the chaos, they witness their country’s explosive course from rebellion to elections to the edge of civil war, and experience at close range the human impact of conflict and international intervention.
