About

As a journalist, Jimmie Briggs is the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including the John Bartlow Martin Award for Public Journalism; the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braitrust Media Award: and the NABJ Magazine Award. He has written for The Washington Post, The Village Voice, Emerge, Vibe, The Source, XXL, The New York Times Magazine, and Life, and is the author of the non-fiction novel Innocents Lost: When Child Soldiers Go To War.
