Katie Barnes (they/them) is an award-winning journalist covering culture, LGBTQ issues, esports, women’s basketball, and women’s combat sports for espnW.com, ESPN.com, and ESPN The Magazine. They chronicled Mack’s story in a feature examining high school transgender athletes for ESPN The Magazine. Mack Wrestles is their first film project. Katie is a graduate of St. Olaf College and Miami University (OH).
