Mike Tyner is a producer and director who co-founded the independent film collective Truth 2 Power Films. Tyner has produced six narrative shorts, two television shows, and many short documentaries. In 2016, Tyner produced THE LAST DAYS OF HUSTLING, a lyrical short by award-winning director and editor Karim López. Tyner made his directorial debut in 2011 with MALCOMOLOGY, a nationally televised six-part documentary series based on Manning Marable’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention.

In 2017, Tyner's narrative short JAKE premiered at the Pan African Film Festival and won "Best New Filmmaker" at the San Francisco Black Film Festival and "Best Short" at Denton Black Film Festival. Mike Tyner continues to direct and write meaningful content and is currently producing a scripted limited series about the life of Malcolm X with Critical Content and John Legend’s production company, Get Lifted.
