
Tigist Schmidt is an international writer, filmmaker, and activist. She’s the 2013 recipient of the United Nations’ Helping Hands Award and the African Union’s 2014 Humanitarian Hero. Her company, Selam Productions, has produced shorts, installations, and music videos. She’s currently focusing on her first features that reflect the African experience.
