Logline
Generation One (formerly titled Bridges) is a short documentary that explores the lives of the children of Arab immigrants as they navigate life in their tight-knit community and life in mainstream society. It explains the realizations that they come to, the conflicts that they encounter, and the resolutions that they arrive at in searching for an identity between the hyphens. The stylistic approach of this film is poetic and artistic, combining symbolic imagery and abstract visuals with interview.
Sohib Boundaoui

Sohib Boundaoui is a filmmaker based in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2016 with a Bachelor's in Biology, and has since been working as an Associate Producer and second camera on the documentary film THE FEELING OF BEING WATCHED. BRIDGES is his directorial debut.
Assia Boundaoui
Producer
Assia Boundaoui is an Algerian-American journalist and filmmaker based in Chicago. She has reported for the BBC, NPR, AlJazeera, VICE, CNN and was the recipient of a first place Mark of Excellence Award from the Society of Professional Journalists. Assia has worked in an editorial capacity on the production of a number of documentary films, including HBO Documentary Films’ MANHUNT (2013) which was awarded an Emmy. Assia has a Masters degree in journalism from New York University and is fluent in Arabic. THE FEELING OF BEING WATCHED is her directorial debut.
