An ambitious basketball coach puts his life on the line to stop his talented, but wayward, son from killing, or being killed
Director
John Akomfrah helped found Black Audio Film Collective, a black filmmaking workshop that produced a broad range of critically acclaimed work for 15 years since its founding in 1982. Akomfrah directed Handsworth Songs, winner of the BFI's Grierson Award for Best Documentary, which explored race and civil disorder in Britain in the 1980s. He also directed the BFI Production title, Speak Like A Child, Akomfrah's latest feature, Digitopia, premiered at the Venice and Toronto festivals in 2007. His upcomming projects include “Touti in Harlem” starring Danny Glover and “Rebel with a Cause: Fela Kuti’s Black President”, a documentary about the life and times of the famed African musician, Fela Kuti. Akomfrah has lectured on Black British cinema around the world and written extensively on film theory and aesthetics. Akomfrah is a member of the PACT Cultutral Diversity Panel and the Advisory Committee of the Sheffield International Documentary Festival.

Lincia Daniel has produced for the BBC, Channel Four, the Discovery Channel and ITV.Her directing credits include the acclaimed documentary series, Solar Empire. Daniel is currently producing her frst feature film, Freestyle, written by Michael Maynard and directed by Kolton lee. Winner of the UK Fillm Council “25 Words or Less” competetion, Freestyle, is being developed by the UK Film Council and comissioned by Film London. She is also developing Games Men Play, which has been developed with the assistance of Screen West Midlands, MEDIA, Moonstone Screenwriter's lab and East. Daniel recieved her education at the European Audiovisual Entrepeneurs (EAVE), the Film Business School in Ronda, Spain, and the University of London.
