Gemma Cubero

Director, Producer

Gemma Cubero is a Spanish filmmaker with a journalism background, educated both in Spain and the United States and fluent in Spanish and English.  Ms. Cubero worked for four years as an Associate Producer and as an Investigator researching the award-winning documentary Señorita Extraviada (Missing Young Woman), a film about the killing of women in Juarez, directed and produced by Lourdes Portillo. She also worked with Lourdes Portillo on At Work, a video installation about Chicanos labor in America. In the last three years she produced with Julio Medem's production company two award winning feature length documentaries: What´s Under Your Hat? and One Percent: Schizophrenia.  Both documentaries are in the international festival circuit and got theatrical release and home video distribution in Spain. In 2006 she founded Talcual Films, an independent film and video production company in Spain and the United States.

Celeste Carrasco

Director, Producer

Native of Barcelona, Spain. Ms. Carrasco started her film career as First Assistant Director in a 35mm feature film Honey, I've Sent the Men to the Moon directed by Marta Balletbó, with theatrical release in Spain and the U.S. She lived in the United States from 1997 to 2002, when the Smithsonian Institution sponsored her to conduct research in the Film and Media Department at The Exploratorium - Museum of Arts and Science in San Francisco. She was the Production Manager and Additional Videographer in Señorita Extraviada directed by Lourdes Portillo and a Producer of Both, the award winning narrative feature directed by Lisset Barcellos.  For the last 3 years Ms. Carrasco has combined her film work with theater working n the Technical Department of the Madrid Opera House.
