Jono Oliver

Director

A DGA assistant director for many years, Jono Oliver has had a career in film production that has included more than 30 projects, working with directors such as George Tillman, Jr., Brian DePalma, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Franklin, John Leguizamo, Ernest Dickerson, Kevin Sullivan, and Phil Alden Robinson, to name just a few. 
In 1999, Oliver wrote and directed the highly acclaimed short film, The Window.  An official selection of over 25 film festivals, including the 2000 Sundance Film Festival, it has won a number of awards and honors and has been sold for broadcast on both foreign and domestic television. 
In 2001, Oliver was a participant in the Sundance Institute’s prestigious Screenwriter’s Labs and Director’s Lab with his feature-length screenplay, The Other Ones, where the script was one of eight projects chosen from approximately 2,500 submissions.  Later that year, the screenplay went on to win the Independent Feature Project’s Gordon Parks Award for Screenwriting.
His latest screenplay is entitled Simple Things.  He is also working on another script, a comedy, which will be completed in the spring of 2004.
Oliver grew up in Brooklyn, NY before attending Stanford University where he received a B.A. in Political Science.  He currently lives in New York with his wife and two young children.
