When an Anglo-Indian insect geneticist gets the chance to return to her childhood home of India heading up a dengue fever mosquito eradication effort, she must also heal the cultural rift that destroyed her family and forced her to leave in the first place.
Annie Pulsipher
Screenwriter
Annie Pulsipher started her career as youth playwright working with the Liberty Park Players and writing and performing short plays for the Salt Lake City Arts Festival. She then received her BA at Brigham Young University with a minor in Playwriting (and Spanish, and Environmental Studies, and History) and a major in Indecisiveness (i.e. Humanities). Her thesis play VOODOO YOU DO won the Mayhew Playwriting Award and was selected for Production in the 2013 season of South Jordon’s Kensington Theatre Company. She’s had readings and productions of her work with groups including New York’s Midtown International Theatre Festival, ARTS New Works Tri-State, and the Kennedy Center through KCACTF. Her screenplay, THE GLOWING GENE, won the 2017 Sloan Student Grand Jury Prize and a grant for additional development from the Tribeca Film Institute. She’s currently at Carnegie Mellon University working on a MFA in Dramatic Writing under Rob Handel.
