The Mask That Grins and Lies follows the lives of three black women who are coping with mental illness while traversing stigmas that prohibits women of color from seeking treatment. These barricades challenge the stereotypes that haunt black communities in America.
Director
Martine has worked as a researcher on the Emmy-nominated documentary, Brave Miss World, and as an associate producer with the Chicago-based media company Kindling Group, where she has collaborated to produce several documentaries concerning timely social issues. She is a reporter for Chicago's City Bureau.
Producer
Clancy’s work includes producing for the Chicago Tribune and as an editor on an MSNBC series on gun violence, which won a Lisagor Award for Best Use of News Video. She produces and hosts her own science video series, Geo Talks with Clancy.
