The Monuments Project uses geolocated augmented reality and volumetric capture to shine light on themes and icons that are traditionally ignored in public spaces I.e. the narratives of women, people of color, and the LGBTQIA community.

Glenn Cantave

Executive Producer

Glenn Cantave, Executive Producer, is an activist, performance artist, and social entrepreneur. Glenn has been advocating for equitable representation in public spaces since 2017. He was on the frontlines in Charlottesville, Virginia as a counter-protester at the Unite Against the Right Rally. His TED Talk on ‘How Augmented Reality is Changing Activism’ was featured on the homepage of TED.com in July. He is a Camelback Fellow, TED Resident, and former artist-in- residence at Eyebeam.

Idris Brewster

Tech Lead

Idris Brewster, Tech Lead, has a background in Cognitive Science and Computer Science. As an artist, Idris spends his time focusing on blending technology and the material world as a means of creative expression. Idris is the co-founder of Movers and Shakers, an education non-profit that uses Augmented Reality as a tool to shed light on narratives from communities of color, as well as a tool to educate in classrooms, cultural institutions and public spaces.
