Bart Daly
Writer/ Producer
Native of Dublin, Ireland, Bart Daly worked professionally as a jockey in the racehorse business, practiced as a barrister, and currently owns First Law, a publishing company. With his tremendous interest in historical and contemporary Native American issues, Daly has been working on Untitled Standing Bear project through H&H Productions, his production company. Daly wrote his first treatment in 1979, and since then, he has been working to promote Ireland as a production location for foreign filmmakers and published a study on the subject with the support of the Irish government. Daly received his Bachelor of Civil Law degree from University College Dublin, and his Barrister-at-Law degree from the King’s Inns.
Valerie Red-Horse
Director/ Producer
Of Cherokee ancestry, Valerie Red-Horse started Red-Horse Native Productions in 1996. Her first project, Naturally Native, premiered at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival, and later released in theaters nationwide. Red-Horse directed and produced True Whispers, an award-winning PBS/ITVS documentary about the Navajo Code Talkers, produced with Gale Anne Hurd/Valhalla Motion Pictures. She has also written, directed, and produced Pop Hunter’s Dew Drop Inn for NAPT/PBS, and wrote the segment titled “The Gift,” within Beauty, a MOW Teleplay for Will Smith’s Production Company, Overbrook, in Association with NBC. Red-Horse’s previous projects also include Windows on Mars and Living Voices. She is currently directing/producing a film for the Choctaw Nation about their involvement during the First World War, and attached to direct Untitled Standing Bear and Echota the Cherokee Trail of Tears Epic. Winner of the 2007 Legacy of Leadership Award from Spelman College, Red-Horse is the founder of two non-profit organizations, and heads the investment banking division of Western International Securities. She graduated cum laude from UCLA’s Theater Arts department.
