Riina Zachariassen commented on behalf of the jury:
“The winner is a personal story by someone with a connection to the community in which they found their protagonist and to the wider issue of mass migration in Europe. Through the intimate relationship between filmmaker and subject, the film allows a positive presentation of what migrants to bring to their new homes in the face of much adversity. Furthermore we felt this funding would make a clear difference to the outcome of the film.”
